Well, you’re never gonna get it.
Sometimes it’s for no good reason (like staying up watching 3 episodes of biggest loser back-to-back-to-back because I don’t know why) and sometimes it is. This past weekend, my lack of sleep was for a good reason. I had my first ever in-person proofing session with a client, and I was trying to be totally ready for it. Of course, that meant I crammed about a month’s worth of work into a 3-day weekend, but hey. Worth it. And next time I have one of these viewing/ordering deals, it will be MUCH less stressful because I will have more of an actual plan in place.
One piece of that session was the assembly of a slideshow to allow the client to view her portraits for the first time. I tried just making a simple slideshow in my editing program, but then it wasn’t saving properly, and it was giving me headaches, and I’d already wasted too much time on that one thing, so I decided to try out this video website that I’d tried once a few years back and then never used at all. Enter animoto. Looks like I have a full command of making customized videos, when really all I have is command of the drag-and-drop technique.
But now I have the program, and I’ve paid for a month membership, so now I’m thinking hmmmm… what else can I do with this?
And then this morning Fiona spent a good 45 minutes just sitting by herself at the kitchen table, coloring. She finally came to me and said she wanted to tell me her story. And I said, “Hold up, kid. Let’s video this shiz.”
Now, I’m no expert, but I contend that her level of adorability makes up for any of my technical shortcomings. And without further ado, may I present:
Power Rangers. Save. Fiona.
In related news, I think we’ve been watching a tad too much netflix lately…
